Double Chin Exercises

Before I begin to explain the double chin exercises, I must first explain why you have a double chin.  A chin is just another place that fat can be stored, and to rid yourself of the double chin you must do the double chin exercises, but you must also begin a healthy eating program.  You must also consider your posture when you are performing the double chin exercises, posture can have much to do with the way you portray your body in every day life.

You have muscles in your neck and we will begin by working these muscles as part of your double chin exercises.  For the first exercise you will stand comfortably and tilt you head back as far as possible (do not strain).  Make sure that your mouth is closed so that you can feel the muscles in the front of your neck stretching, hold this for a count of ten and then bring your head back to normal. You can do this exercise once or twice a day and build up from there. 

 

The next double chin exercise is also done while standing up with your head at a normal angle.   Bring your lower lip up as far as possible over your upper lip, hold for a count of ten and then relax.  You can try this exercise once or twice a day and work up to ten repetitions. 

 

Next you will be sitting down for this double chin exercise.  Sit straight up, then tilt your head back as far as possible (do not strain).  Now, open and close your mouth several times slowly, make sure that you feel the muscle stretch each time.  You can do this several times a day as well and try to work up to ten repetitions. 

 

These exercises are a great starting point for you and can be done at any time.  Try to set up certain times in the day to remind yourself to do these exercises.  For example, while you are waiting for your coffee to brew or while you are waiting for your copies to be made.  You can even set a timer at your desk to remind you throughout the day to do these exercises.  Remember, if you do these double chin exercises twice a day they show much better improvement. 

 

If you are already on a weight loss program, you may have noticed loose skin under your chin, this can be caused by fat stores being emptied.  You need to do these exercises to tighten the new ‘fat free’ skin in that area.  If you are not on a diet and exercise program, remember that these double chin exercises alone will not work; you must incorporate a balanced healthy lifestyle.
