How To Lose A Double Chin

What is the cause of a double chin?  A chin is just another place that fat can be stored, and to rid yourself of the double chin you must do the double chin exercises, but you must also begin a healthy eating program.  You must also consider your posture when you are performing the double chin exercises, posture can have much to do with the way you portray your body in every day life.  Now that you know what causes this, you need to know how to lose a double chin.

First in your program for how to lose a double chin, you must take a look at your nutrition habits.  Are you eating the right foods?  Are you eating the proper amount?  Are you drinking enough water?   Nutrition has more to do with your double chin than you probably think.  If you eat too many calories or not the right foods your body will not burn fat properly.  If you are consuming too many calories right now, try to take in 250 less per day to begin with.  This is simple to do, just subtract that afternoon candy bar or can of soda each day.  You could put less butter on your toast or quit adding sugar to your coffee or tea.  Your body deposits ‘extra calories’ all over, and for some people they go straight to the double chin.  You should also keep in mind that drinking plenty of water is essential to flushing out the fat and helping your body run properly.  You must drink at least eight cups of water daily and even more than that with exercise. 

 

Next in your program for how to lose a double chin, you must look at your exercise habits.  Do you participate in regular cardiovascular activity?  Do you participate in weight bearing activities to build lean muscle mass?  To begin an exercise program you should try for 20-30 minutes of any type of cardiovascular activity.  These activities include walking, jogging, biking, swimming and anything else to get your heart rate up.

Even if you don’t have time to go to the gym you should try to fit extra ‘calorie burning’ moves into your everyday life.  Examples of this would be taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking away from the building so that you have to take more steps to get to the door, or making extra rounds while shopping.  These are just a few ideas, be creative and come up with your own—it’s actually quite fun once you get into it.  Another type of exercise you will want to slowly add is weight training.  This helps build your lean muscle mass, which in turn, helps your body to burn more calories at rest.  See a fitness professional to get proper training on this subject.

 

Lastly in your program for how to lose a double chin, you must add double chin specific exercises.  There are many exercises that you can try, but I will give you a few very important ones.  You must do each of these exercises twice a day and try to build up the repetitions as they get easier for you to do.  First, sit in a chair and lean your head back as far as you can (do not strain), while leaning your head back open and close your mouth ten times.  Next, while standing up with your head at a natural angle lift you lower lip over your upper lip as much as you can, repeat this ten times.  Also while standing, open your mouth as wide as you can and stick your tongue out.  While you are doing this move your tongue from side to side ten times, then relax.  Repeat this up to ten times.  Remember, you get better results by doing this twice a day rather than once a day.  Good luck with your new quest on how to lose a double chin.
